Somewhere Studio
Somewhere Studio, LLC is an architecture practice led by Jessica Colangelo and Charles Sharpless. The studio works on commissioned projects at a range of scales including exhibitions, interiors, public space design, residential and commercial buildings. Each design stems from an attentive investigation of tectonic and typological details that strive to instill the material practice of architecture with a greater cultural and ecological relevance. Somewhere Studio enjoys pattern, color, and optical effects as opportunities to explore the relationships between material assemblies and their perception as layered spatial devices. Somewhere Studio often work with unexpected applications of commonplace details (dovetail joints, bolted angle iron, tab and slot sheet construction, wood fencing pickets, lap siding, gingham fabrics) to provide the foundation for a conversation between architects and stakeholders, and ultimately seek to engage the greater community through the thoughtful application of our disciplinary expertise. The studio is based in Fayetteville, Arkansas where Jessica and Charles also serve on the faculty at the University of Arkansas.
